Trailblazers of Broward County, Inc.
The Trailblazers of Broward County are an organization dedicated to preserving and promoting local African-American history and achievements.
In 2016 the erection of ‘Sankofa’, a 12 ft sculptured monument in Sistrunk Park, celebrated The Trailblazers of Broward County, Inc.’s “Gateway to the Northwest” project, memorializing the legacy of Sistrunk’s early pioneers, who through entrepreneurship, ensured prosperity to the all-black community amid segregation.
